Kartlis Deda
This photo was taken in the Botanical Gardens in Tbilisi. he statue is called Kartlis Deda, or Mother of Kartli or Mother of a Georgian. With the sky becoming magenta on a summer’s evening, there is a feel of the mother looking out and protecting Georgia. The statue has a cup of wine for friends in one hand and a sword in the other.
Designed in 1958, it is an important symbol for Georgians.KartlisDedaGeorgiaKartlis DedaTbilisiTbilisi PhotoTbilisi PhotographTiflisгрузиятбилисиსაქართვეო
